Advisory board members

Open, 5 seats

Spots are limited to five. We want people who care deeply about relief in disasters and humanitarian crises, and who can help AVERT make good decisions when it comes to major gift campaigns.

  • You care deeply about disaster relief and humanitarian crises.
  • You bring a broad background and a strong personal and professional network.
  • You want a real voice in how AVERT approaches major gift campaigns.

Answered

AVERT asked for a real, grown up website and promised to feature whoever stepped up. A volunteer answered the call, and you are looking at the result.

Distribution center managers

Open

This is not for a current or active mission. We are building a solid logistics and donation management supply chain in key regions, so it is ready before it is needed.

  • You live near, but not inside, a hurricane, wildfire or flood zone.
  • You can volunteer some space and some of your time.
  • You are willing to help consolidate donations and relief supplies when disaster hits nearby.

Not sure your spot qualifies? Check the staging belt on our disaster country map, then tell us where you are. We will figure it out together.

Development officers

Open

We are looking for people with experience managing charitable gift and donation programs who would like to help with outreach and execution.

  • You have run gift or donation programs, or you are ready to learn how.
  • You enjoy reaching out to donors, partners and communities.
  • You want to help AVERT be ready before the next disaster, not after it.

Experience is preferred, but if you just want to help, we will teach you what you need to know.

Raise your hand

Tell us where you fit.

Your note goes straight to the AVERT team. A volunteer will read it and follow up by email.

No experience? Still raise your hand.

Some roles call for a background in gift programs or logistics. Others mostly need heart, a little time and a willingness to learn.

Distribution centers are regional, so where you live matters.
Where could you help?

Questions

Before you raise your hand.

Is AVERT deploying right now?

Not at the moment. The relaunch is about building the team and the supply chain before the next disaster, so the distribution center role is not tied to a current mission. Until then, please do not travel to a disaster area on your own. Here is why.

Do I need experience?

It depends on the role. Experience is preferred for development officers, but we will teach anyone who wants to help. Advisory board seats call for a broad background and a strong personal and professional network.

Can I help in a way that is not listed?

Yes. Choose Something else in the form and tell us what you bring.
